Hidden among shadows
Yet no one really sees
If only someone cared
If only she were noticed

Her tears flow down
Like a river’s pull
Her fair blows in her face
She’s under tree’s branches
Which sway within the sweet breeze

All she can do is cry
At home things aren’t right
Treated badly is always a fight
People move in and out making nothing right

All she has are books
Books with hidden worlds
She feels at home in pages of stories
Reading every chapter as if her own

Friends at school don’t really help
What has she done to deserve this?
A smart student
A brilliant imagination
Nothing fully appreciated

Everything she feels is crushed
Crushed by forceful beings
They maker her eat
Make her work
Just like Cinderella

All she wants is kindness
Someone to care
To wash away her tears

I tell her that I’m here
That I really care
But what can I really do?

Her pains go so much deeper
Talking of death to get away

I do my best to stay by her side
And keep her company
Yet really my Cinderella needs help
A better friend than I
I offer all I can
Like a day to just hang out
To pass the dreadful hours
She faces

A day to spend away from her mom
A hateful roommate just so wrong

We talk
We cry
We say goodbye
But her problems are still unfinished

My Cinderella is sad at heart
A true friend on the surface
Scarred within

I miss her happiness
And her pretty smile

Yet I know that deep inside
She’s waiting just to scream
To scream and say just go away
To scream and say I hate this
To yell or say what’s on her mind
To make it just all go away

I can tell you this my Cinderella
That soon this will all change
Your heart is safe in keeping
Your fears and tears not far from release

Just stick to it
Make it perfect
And soon you’ll find a way
